*Public Outreach Department of The Mesothelioma Center: As you may be aware, mesothelioma is a deadly form of cancer caused from asbestos exposure. Due to the long latency period of mesothelioma, approximately 20-50 years, about 80% of those who are diagnosed with this terrible disease are seniors. Our organization works 1-on-1 with these individuals to help them find local doctors, treatment centers and support groups. 1-855-404-4592
*Delphi Health Group: Addiction-and-Disabilities: Public awareness of addiction has skyrocketed during the American opioid epidemic, but some critical trends among vulnerable populations have not received as much attention. This includes the prevalence of addiction among individuals with disabilities of all sorts.
Some disabilities, chronic pain in particular, are inexorably linked to the opioid crisis and are a serious consideration for responsible solutions. There is a difficult balance between responsible prescription of opioids and the humane treatment of chronic pain.
I believe a crucial first step is to educate individuals with disabilities themselves, on the relationship between disability, addiction and treatment. Understanding the connection here is the first step towards individual recovery. 1-844-208-4761

*Beauty and the Beast Inside: How Body Image Impacts Mental Health. About 8 million Americans are suffering from an eating disorder and I don't think we talk about it enough. Unrealistic images of how a body "should" look permeate all forms of media. Without an equally visible discussion on mental and physical health and wellness, it's no wonder so many young people think they don't measure up.
Here's what's in it:
1. Negative and Positive Body Image
2. Body Image and Mental Health
3. Body Dysmorphic Disorder
4. Related Eating Disorders
